The pipes wore out in my crawlspace flooding raw sewage under the house. Allstate would not cover a dime.

It cost me over $6000 out of my own pocket.

Do not insured with Allstate. You will be in bad hands.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

I am not a fan of Allstate as I feel that they try to underpay claims when they can. Also, I have a lot of experience in damage and repairs.

However, in your case it does not appear that sewage water ever got into the house and caused damage and it all remained in the crawlspace. No insurance company that I am aware of will pay to clean out a crawlspace.

Also, the plumbing repairs, replacing the drains or other, are considered part of the maintenance of the house and again no carrier will pay for these type of repairs.

I am sorry that you you had to take such a loss, but you may have been treated fairly per the insurance contract (policy) that you have with them.

Rusted out pipes are a maintenance issue and part of the responsibility of being a homeowner. That would not be covered by any insurance company.

Insurance policies cover damage under the "covered loss"section of your policy.

The damage must be listed as a covered loss and must have been sudden and accidental. Rot and rust are not a sudden occurrence, therefore excluded.
