Complaint about Roadside Assistance
Email received but very vague. I will be printing it off & following steps with hopes of a refund. I don’t know what I’ve been paying for if my membership doesn’t cover a simple tire change
While going through the process I was asked for a credit card number which I thought was a little unusual but I entered mine in. At that time the screen popped up that my account would be charged $98 for the tire change. I again thought that was unusual but continued so I could get the help I needed. I have a Roadside Assistance membership that is paid monthly.
The tow service that came was fantastic and the actual service went great. Now comes the issue. I called the costumer service number the representative was nice but I am hearing impaired & need things repeated. She could see where I was charged $98 & told me that they would send an email of the receipt & I would have to print it off & mail it to the claims department which she gave me the address with the ref# 105612****.
I repeated what she told me & verified my email address for the service receipt. I have not received any receipt for service yet. The charge is on my bank account but no receipt. Called again & was told the email could take a week to be sent even though the service person had it pulled up on the screen.
This is weird any other company has been able to email me with is sort of thing in just a matter of minutes. She kept saying it was done in another building? Another weird thing when it comes to computers in a system you should be able to send from anywhere. I dont want to be rude but I get the feeling that this company is not on the up & up.
Definitely not customer friendly. All I need is this receipt to mail in. I hope to get this resolved but I will be thinking about making some changes. Thank you
Update:Got an email stating that my roadside assistance did not cover a tire change and to consider that email my receipt.
Next step is to print off email and follow the steps given to me. What have I been paying for?
- Car insurance with allstate is good
- Representatives are scripted
- Claims are slow and done by mail
- Roadside assistance customer service is poor
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Go with AAA for roadside assistance. I decided to try Allstate roadside & will be canceling as soon as I can. Worst customer service ever. Representatives at call center has a difficult time communicating especially if you’re hearing.
Update insurance

To tell the truth about the place
I'd been a customer at Mark Pogue Allstate for several years. Despite the ads, nothing they do is geared toward rewarding safe drivers, because being a safe driver isn't even part of the equation.
I was paying $864.00 every six months, even though I have no tickets and no accidents. And the best they could come up with was to suggest DriveWyze or auto pay. I am not about to have a box attached to my car just to save. And I shouldn't have to put everything on the computer where anyone can grab the information.
Finally, I switched companies a month ago. Well apparently Allstate didn't get that, because they sent me notices about going in and taking their money out of my account, then last week telling me that I was two days late with the payment. I was right there the first time their associate made the corrections, so either she deleted it or she lost it, but either way, both times she blamed my new insurance company for the problem.
So proving that you can't trust them any further than you can throw the building. If they were run out of town on a rail I couldn't be happier.
User's recommendation: See a genuine snake oil salesmen first. You'll get a better deal.

Recent experience
Like many others I called Allstate Roadside which I've been a member of since 1980 which is stated on my card. They sent Redline Towing who showed up in a reasonable amount of time but that's the only good thing I can say.
The driver made me (68 year old) push the car off the driveway while he sat in the car and steered.
Keep in mind this was on a sub-zero day. He loaded the car onto the flatbed truck and drove off. The driver then called me to come meet him outside. He demanded $75 because Allstate won't approve the claim.
I didn't care to argue out there and would just call Allstate to straighten it out.
Allstate said that Redline told them the car wouldn't go in neutral and they had to push the car because I refused to (I did and have a witness who saw me). If the car couldn't get in neutral, nobody would be pushing it! They said they had to use a wench to get the car on the truck. The starter was the issue and the claim was for a non starting car.
How else would the car get on the truck?
Bottom line these guys are liars and thieves and Allstate is just as guilty for not vetting them properly.
I have read all the other reviews from Allstate members so this isn't a one off situation. I have opened up a case with Allstate and will do my best to make sure they drop this company so others aren't subjected to their deceptive practices and outright lies.
If you have a choice don't use Redline Towing or Allstate Roadside!!!
User's recommendation: Look at AAA or AARP

Verified ReviewerNEED RESPONSE!!
I have called multiple times, leaving messages daily, requesting a return call. Additionally, I have sent multiple emails requesting a response, all of which have gone on answers.
Then our agents retired and our new agent has taken over.
We have had nothing but problems and now we have realized that our daughters vehicle which has a reconstructed title Has been somehow insured for full coverage, comprehensive and collision which its impossible to cover. So we have been paying extra orbit rates for the past seven months and we are extremely frustrated and need to speak with somebody immediately to figure this out!
