Allstate - Completely misleading on roadside assistance
I was with Allstate Motor Club for six years and never had to call them for assistance until last week. My car broke down and needed it towed 23 miles to my service station.
I called Allstate and they arranged for a tow truck to come....all was fine. Within two minutes Allstate called me back and said I would have to pay the tow company $50, that they only cover the first $100. I was furious and cancelled them at that moment and told them to refund my last payment to them. They definitely have some scam going on because I was paying $42 every three months for that contract and for me to have to pay a tow company any money for a 23 mile tow is ridiculous at the price they charged me for the contract.
No other company charges that much money and if they do you definitely get good service. I went back to a company that I used many years ago at $10 a month which will tow up to 100 miles for that price.
Consumers be very careful and read all the fine print.

I just canceled mine too, Allstate sucks onions...AAA is the way to go.
I called Allstate Roadside Service for assistance at 5:00 a.m. this morning.
They could not find a tow truck in my area to pick up my vehicle. Instead they advised me to contact he local authorities in order to obtain a list of tow trucks in my area. I have spent an hour on the phone with someone from Canada only to find out that I have to do the leg work myself. What have I been paying them for this entire time!
This sucks! :(
100 Roadside is 7-8 dollars every six months, take a look
oh and lady.....why didnt you just have them tow it within the 100.00 and call back again....uh duh?
The program does not allow concurrent calls ... you have a member id.
Another case of I was too darn lazy to read the paperwork. Blame yourself for buying the cheapest plan!
Read the paperwork and if money is an issue for you then you could have just joined their roadside assistance instead of buying motor club.
